Hello, I am Ruth. As human beings we are all unique, we don’t all fit into cookie cutter moulds. As an Integrative Counsellor, I am able to draw on different counselling approaches to work with each individual and their particular needs. I work from a Person-Centred perspective, incorporating elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Psychoanalysis. I like to introduce creative elements to the sessions if appropriate, as I find this can help to move sessions forward and connect more with the right side of the brain.
As someone who has experienced domestic abuse, I am passionate about helping survivors to heal and recover their sense of identity. I hold a Diploma in Counselling from Waverley Abbey College and Roehampton University. I also have a BA in Sociology and Anthropology. I am a registered member of the ACC and abide by their rules and regulations. I receive monthly supervision, undertake continuing professional development and am fully insured.
